  • My LO’s doctor told me that he has reflux but I’m not convinced. While he spits up ALOT and gets the hiccups frequently he’s never fussy (unless he’s hungry) and he doesn’t have sour breath or any of the other symptoms listed. We went for his 2 month checkup and the doctor asked if he was spitting up and I told him about the amount and how often but that he never fusses over it. The doctor told me that he has reflux and that I should start adding cereal to his formula. Even though I felt this wasn’t necessary I tried it for about a week. His spitting up did improve but not significantly and he started getting fussy after feedings and just seemed really uncomfortable. So after a week I stopped adding cereal and tried enfamil’s AR formula but just like the cereal he was fussy and uncomfortable after feedings. Should I trust my doctor and continue treating him for reflux? If so what else I try? I have always made sure that he’s elevated when he eats and his bed is also elevated.

  • My son is a month old and started showing signs of reflux. It’s reiky awful to know your child is in pain or not feeling well. Since symptoms have surfaced I have removed dairy completely from diet. I am now also removing soy and nuts to see if it also helps.

We have purchased a mattress bump so he is elevated at night which seems to be helping.

We have also used gripe water which seems to provide relief but not all the time. Since last doctors visit they prescribed zantec and I have been apprehensive to use it but also don’t want him in pain.

After s rough day where nothing seemed to sooth him we have given him 3 doses so far. I would truly prefer not to use medication. Of other moms have recommendations I would love the advice and support !
